Meet the owner
Lynn Jones
In the late ’90s, Lynn Jones entered the beauty industry driven by a persistent passion for hairstyling. The desire to “do hair” lingered within her, and in my mid-thirties, after my son finished 5th grade, I took the bold step of enrolling in Beauty School. My unwavering determination led me to complete the program in less than a year, marking the beginning of an impactful journey. After graduating, the rest became history. What I love most about my profession is the opportunity to touch someone’s life every day I go to work. The beauty industry allows us to make a significant impact, boosting people’s confidence and providing a haven where they can relax and momentarily escape the challenges of life. Throughout my career, I’ve encountered numerous wonderful experiences and exciting opportunities in this dynamic and rewarding industry.
One of the most heartwarming experiences in my career has been witnessing the journey of kids growing up, heading to college, and returning home for a “hair do.” It’s truly amazing how these young adults, who were once children in my chair, still recall words of encouragement that I shared with them, influencing their lives in meaningful ways. Understanding the profound impact that beauty professionals can have on individuals daily, my current goal is to give back to the industry by nurturing the next generation of professionals. I aim to produce leaders who are not only skilled in their craft but also compassionate and dedicated, ensuring that they continue to make a positive impact in the lives of their clients and contribute positively to the beauty industry.

Our Goals
Our goal at New Trendz Barbering Academy is to foster the development of well-educated and knowledgeable professionals, providing them with the essential foundations to excel in the barber/hair specialist industry. We aim to create an environment that not only prepares students for short-term and long-term goals but also encourages them to achieve their unique professional aspirations through fundamental strategies. Additionally, our objective is to support graduates in feeling fully confident to work in any area of South Carolina by emphasizing key industry elements integral to their success.
A barbering academy provides a comprehensive education that equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the field of barbering. The curriculum typically covers a wide range of topics, including:
Haircutting Techniques: Students learn the art and science of various haircutting styles, including classic cuts, fades, and contemporary trends. This involves understanding different hair textures, face shapes, and using a variety of tools such as clippers, shears, and razors.
Hairstyling: Beyond hair cutting, students are taught various hairstyling techniques, including how to use styling products, create different textures, and achieve specific looks based on client preferences.
Shaving and Facial Hair Design: Barbering academies often include training in the art of traditional and modern shaving techniques. This encompasses straight razor shaving, beard shaping, and facial hair design.
